Re-evaluate the point scheme for the Driving Theory Exam
RejectedRejected 14 Oct 2026
Reason: The Government of Wales Act 2006 establishes the extent of the Senedd’s power to make new laws and amend existing law (also known as legislative competence). Schedules 7A and 7B of the 2006 Act set out the issues which are ‘restricted’ or ‘reserved’ - i.e. areas where the UK Parliament, not the Senedd, can legislate. ‘Driver licensing’ (which incorporates testing) is expressly reserved under paragraph 106 of Schedule 7A to GoWA. As a result, it is not possible for the Senedd to take the action called for by your petition. Further information about the powers and responsibilities of the Senedd can be found here: https://senedd.wales/how-we-work/our-role/powers/ You may wish to consider petitioning the UK Parliament about this issue instead: https://petition.parliament.uk/

You could consider submitting a petition to Cardiff Council on this issue (https://www.cardiff.gov.uk/petitions) or contacting your local authority representatives about this matter.

Price transparency (or the lack thereof) was a major theme of this investigation (https://www.gov.uk/government/news/cma-concludes-market-investigation-with-major-reforms-to-veterinary-sector). This investigation has fed into a UK Government White Paper on wider reforms to the veterinary sector (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/our-vision-for-a-thriving-veterinary-sector/our-vision-for-a-thriving-veterinary-sector#support-for-consumers). Oppose the development of nuclear power stations on new sites in Wales
RejectedRejected 26 Aug 2026
Reason: Decisions about whether to approve or reject planning applications are made by planning authorities. Petitions to the Senedd cannot seek to intervene in the operational decisions or actions of any relevant authority responsible for determining applications for planning permission or infrastructure consent in Wales, or to seek to challenge or reverse such determination. We are not able to accept a petition on this issue – it should be pursued through the relevant planning authority procedure. For Developments of National Significance/Infrastructure Consent under the Infrastructure Act 2024: The Legislation sets out a clear judicial procedure for challenging the granting of planning permission or any type of infrastructure consent order. It follows that a Senedd petition is not the most appropriate channel for achieving this aim. The Welsh Government has published procedural guidance: Developments of national significance (DNS): procedural guidance [HTML] | GOV.WALES In addition, Schedules 7A and 7B of the Government of Wales Act 2006 set out the issues which are ‘restricted’ or ‘reserved’ - i.e. areas where the UK Parliament, not the Senedd, can legislate. Under D4 - Nuclear Energy - nuclear energy and nuclear installations are reserved to the UK Government.

Ban the “Naked bike ride”. There are laws to protect children against being exposed to naked people.
RejectedRejected 11 Aug 2026
Reason: Petitions to the Senedd must call for a specific action that falls within the powers of the Senedd or Welsh Government. This petition calls on the police to uphold existing laws. This is therefore a policing issue and is not within the responsibilities of the Welsh Government. You may wish to address your concerns to South Wales Police. Also, if the event requires a road(s) closure, you may wish to raise the issue with Cardiff Council.
