About Open Senedd
What Open Senedd does
Open Senedd brings together what the Senedd publishes about its work: debates and votes in Plenary, committee meetings, written questions and their answers, petitions, Members' registered interests and their allowance claims. Every record links back to the official source, and every speech links to the moment it was made on Senedd TV. The site adds figures for each Member and party, and briefs that follow each policy area against the Welsh Government's Programme for Government.
It is for anyone who wants to follow the Senedd: people who live in Wales, journalists, researchers, campaigners, students, and Members and their staff.
It is free to use and has no advertising.
Independence
Open Senedd is an independent project. It is not run or endorsed by the Senedd or the Welsh Government.
Open Senedd's copies are not the official record. Every page links to the official version, so you can check anything we show.
Who makes it
Open Senedd is made by DC Group. To get in touch, email feedback@datblygu.cymru.
Where the data comes from
The records on Open Senedd come from data the Senedd Commission publishes, collected by an automated pipeline every day. Briefs add the Welsh Government's Programme for Government, official statistics from the Welsh Government and the Office for National Statistics, and articles by Senedd Research. The Sixth Senedd roster and the opinion polls we put together ourselves from the published sources each one lists.
The data status page shows when each part was last updated, and the data and methods page explains how the figures are worked out.
