Question
What action is the Welsh Government taking to encourage concessionary fare passengers to use bus services?
Answer
Answered by Deputy Minister for Climate Change
We know the number of people travelling on local bus services across Wales using concessionary travel passes has not yet recovered to pre Covid levels. Transport for Wales delivered a major all Wales publicity campaign last year to encourage people to make more journeys by rail, local bus services and active travel routes.
We are currently working with Transport for Wales, the bus industry and other partners to consider what further marketing activity could encourage more people to travel on public transport, including local bus services.
