Question
What steps is the Cabinet Secretary taking to encourage schools to run educational school trips that are not linked to the curriculum?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Education
I have no plans to encourage schools to undertake educational trips that do not support their curriculum. Under the Curriculum for Wales, a school’s curriculum is everything a learner experiences in pursuit of the four purposes.
If a school trip is deemed to have educational value, then it would naturally form a part of the school’s approach to delivering its curriculum arrangements.
