Question
What discussions has the Welsh Government had with the UK Government regarding the two child benefit cap?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, Trefnydd and Chief Whip
As part of our engagement with the UK Government, including on their Child Poverty Strategy, we have consistently called for positive changes in social security policy to tackle child poverty, particularly seeking a commitment to end the two child benefit rule – most recently at a meeting with the UK Government Employment Minister at the child poverty round table meeting in Cardiff on the 5 June.
