What action is the Cabinet Secretary taking to introduce a fast track approach to boost the number of BSL translators working in education in Wales?

The Curriculum for Wales includes BSL versions of guidance and guidance on teaching BSL both for deaf BSL signers and other learners.
Welsh Government is committed to strengthening the provision of BSL across our Welsh public services and are supporting Mark Isherwood’s BSL (Wales) Bill, which aims to promote and facilitate BSL in Wales.
The BSL Stakeholder group, established in January 2025 has produced short-term recommendations which include mapping BSL within the existing teaching workforce to understand levels of BSL provision.
