Question
Does the Welsh Government intend to replace the UK Government's Listed Places of Worship Scheme with a Welsh-specific scheme?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Culture, Skills and Social Partnership
The Welsh Government is considering the implications of the closure of the UK-wide Listed Places of Worship Grant Scheme. Work is underway to evaluate future options and determine the most effective ways to support listed places of worship in Wales.
In the meantime, places of worship in Wales continue to benefit from existing support programmes including the Welsh Government’s Community Facilities Programme, which provides capital grants of up to £300,000 for buildings that serve wider community needs, and grants through Cadw for listed buildings at risk, historic building regeneration and partnerships with third‑sector organisations.
