Question
What consideration has the Welsh Government given to replacing the Salmon and Sea Trout licence with an all-species Fresh Water Fishing licence?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Minister for Rural Resilience and Sustainability (Llyr Gruffydd)
Natural Resources Wales (NRW), in line with its statutory duties is responsible for the management of salmon, sewin and freshwater fisheries in Wales. This includes provisions relating to fishing licences which are issued on an England and Wales basis, with licence holders able to fish in either country.
NRW currently have no plans to review the structure of fishing licences.
