Opening of the meeting
The committee met by video-conference.
The meeting began at 10:30.
1. Introductions, apologies, substitutions and declarations of interest
Good morning, everyone. I'd like to welcome Members to the first meeting of the Equality and Social Justice Committee of the sixth Senedd.
In accordance with Standing Order 34.19, I have determined that the public are excluded from the committee's meeting in order to protect public health, and, in accordance with Standing Order 34.21, notice of this decision was included in the agenda of the meeting, which was published on Wednesday. The public items of this meeting are being broadcast live on Senedd.tv and all participants are joining by video-conference. A Record of Proceedings will be published as usual. The meeting is bilingual and simultaneous translation from Welsh to English is available. There are no apologies, although Jane Dodds is going to be joining us later. So, she is going to be late and has sent her apologies.
Are there any declarations of interest from Members? Okay, I think that's a 'no'. Finally, if I drop out of the meeting for any reason, I propose, in accordance with Standing Order 17.22, that Sarah Murphy will temporarily chair the meeting while I endeavour to rejoin.
