The debate so far
In the Seventh Senedd, health has been argued about mainly between a Plaid Cymru Government and the opposition parties. Cabinet Minister Mabon ap Gwynfor has set out surgical hubs and a £145 million waiting times fund. Opposition Members have pressed for a date to end two-year waits and questioned recovery at Betsi Cadwaladr. Debates also covered rural and Powys hospital services, GPs and dentistry, nursing graduate jobs, winter planning, maternity, palliative care and prostate cancer.
The main arguments
- Mabon ap Gwynfor (Plaid Cymru) says 10 surgical hubs and £145 million will end two-year waits within months. Ken Skates and Huw Thomas (Welsh Labour) say lists fell for 10 months under Labour's £120 million and ask for a firm date.
