Question
What steps is the Welsh Government taking to clean up contaminated land across Wales, such as the Ty Llwyd Quarry?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Minister for Rural Resilience and Sustainability (Llyr Gruffydd)
Addressing land contamination is a priority for this Government. We are committed to developing a Wales-wide strategy to progressively restore post-industrial land and protecting communities from potential risks. This includes strengthening the “polluters pay principle” and ensuring the UK Government makes a fair contribution to remediating the impacts of industrial pollution that pre-dates devolution.
