Question
What data does the Welsh Government collect regarding road runoff from major highway surfaces, in particular surface waters immediately downstream of the roadway outfalls?
Answer
Answered by Deputy Minister for Transport (Mark Hooper)
The Welsh Government does not routinely collect monitoring data on road runoff from major highway surfaces or on surface waters immediately downstream of individual highway outfalls. Responsibility for environmental monitoring and assessment of water bodies in Wales rests with Natural Resources Wales.
