Question
Will the Welsh Government monitor all waters equally regardless of bathing or non-bathing designation, given the role in water quality to ecosystem health and the rise in wild swimming in Wales?
Answer
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
The Bathing Water Regulations 2013 set out the statutory requirements for Welsh Ministers to designate popular bathing sites, and Natural Resources Wales (NRW) monitors water quality at these sites throughout the bathing season.
