Question
Will the Welsh Government consider adopting natural regeneration through livestock exclusion as the primary method for increasing tree cover in Wales?
Answer
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
The Welsh Government is committed to increasing rates of tree planting. A range of incentives are offered through our woodland creation grants which offer nine different planting options. We will continue to work with the Trees and Hedges Stakeholder Delivery Group to improve support for tree planting and will seek their views on potential future planting options.
