What action is the Welsh Government taking to improve outcomes for people with avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Deputy Minister for Social Care, Mental Health and Women’s Health (Delyth Jewell)
The Strategic Programme for Mental Health, within NHS Performance and Improvement, has developed a dedicated national pathway and eating disorder training for all medical professionals about recognising and treating avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID). This is a new pathway and NHS Performance and Improvement will work with teams across all health boards to support implementation and to establish a national community of practice for ARFID.
This work was informed by a task and finish group which included clinicians, service users, the third sector and carers.
