Will the Cabinet Minister confirm whether any changes to the Welsh Government's policy on bovine TB and the Wales TB Eradication Programme Delivery Plan will be subject to public consultation?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Minister for Rural Resilience and Sustainability (Llyr Gruffydd)
The Welsh Government's bovine TB policy is informed by evidence from the independent Bovine TB Technical Advisory Group (TAG), the Animal and Plant Health Agency, wildlife surveillance and Welsh Government-supported research. The TAG and the Bovine TB Eradication Programme Board provide independent scientific, technical and strategic advice to inform policy development and delivery. Their independence is supported through clear terms of reference, public appointments and adherence to the Seven Principles of Public Life.
The Welsh Government is currently considering the available evidence and advice as part of the ongoing policy refresh. I intend to make a statement to the Senedd in the autumn setting out next steps, including how evidence and research will inform future policy development and any arrangements for stakeholder engagement and consultation, where appropriate.
