Will the Cabinet Minister explain why the Welsh Government believes UK tourists, visitors and workers staying overnight in Wales should pay an additional visitor levy towards local services when they already contribute to funding public services through existing UK and Welsh taxation?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Minister for Finance (Elin Jones)
The visitor levy empowers local authorities to raise additional funding from overnight stays in their area if they decide it is appropriate to do so. Where used, the revenues must be invested back into the area, supporting and improving the local tourism offer.
