What steps is the Cabinet Minister taking to encourage more men to undertake prostate and testicular cancer screening?

Atebwyd gan Cabinet Minister for Health and Care (Mabon ap Gwynfor)
In March, the UK National Screening Committee (UK NSC) published its recommendation that a nationally managed approach to biennial PSA testing should be implemented for men aged 45 to 61 who have a pathogenic germline BRCA2 variant, and have a family history of breast, ovarian, pancreatic or prostate cancer. The UK NSC did not recommend population‑wide prostate cancer screening. The Welsh Government will carefully consider the implications for Wales of the UK NSC recommendation before any decisions are taken on implementation. This will involve working with the NHS in Wales and third sector.
The UK NSC does not currently recommend any screening for testicular cancer.
Anyone with symptoms of, or concerns about, prostate or testicular cancer should contact their GP.
