Is the Welsh Government on track to meet its target of 20,000 new low carbon social homes by 2026, given that only around 9,000 homes have been made available for rent in the social sector so far?

Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Housing and Local Government
When we set this target, it was a deliberately challenging and ambitious target. Over the first three years of this Government term we have seen some of the highest levels of delivery since 2008.
Sector projections tell us that there is a strong pipeline of schemes to deliver even more homes during this Senedd term and into the next. We are working with the sector to secure as many of these homes as possible as quickly as possible and this is also a focus of the Affordable Homes Task Force.
Our recent funding announcement of an additional £10m in-year funding as well as the draft budget setting a record annual budget of £411m for the Social Housing Grant in 2025-26, will help us to deliver more homes, at pace.
