Will the Cabinet Secretary address incidental findings of emphysema in the final evaluation report of the lung health check operational pilot for Wales, noting that 61 per cent of participants showed signs of emphysema?

The NHS in Wales is responsible for addressing any clinically significant incidental findings from screening programmes. This includes appropriate and timely referral, assessment, and treatment in line with clinical guidelines. The Lung Health Check pilot evaluation report explains how participants with an incidental finding of emphysema were managed. Participants and GPs were notified about an incidental finding of emphysema, but most of these incidental findings were mild, and most of those with severe findings were already diagnosed or receiving therapy.
