Atebwyd gan Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
The Welsh Government has implemented several initiatives to support the tenanted farming sector in Wales, aligning with priorities identified by stakeholders and consistent with the themes outlined in the Rock Review.
We have worked with stakeholders to ensure the Sustainable Farming Scheme is fully accessible for tenant farmers. We have also introduced legislation granting tenant farmers the right to request changes to tenancy terms or seek landlord consent to access support or fulfil legal requirements. Where consent is denied, the issue may now be submitted to arbitration.
Additionally, the Tenancy Working Group has recently been reconvened to formulate an industry-led code of practice for tenants and landlords, which is expected by the end of the year.
