What discussions has the Cabinet Secretary had with Dŵr Cymru over the latest spills of pollution into the sea off Conwy county borough?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
I hold regular discussions with Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water on a wide range of issues, including investment priorities, regulatory requirements and performance against environmental obligations. These discussions are not limited to individual incidents or locations but cover the broader challenges associated with wastewater treatment and storm overflow discharges across Wales, including their impact on coastal waters, rivers, communities and businesses.
The Welsh Government works closely with Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, Natural Resources Wales and Ofwat to ensure this investment is delivered and that progress is made to improve water quality across Wales, including in Conwy County borough.
