What discussions has the Cabinet Secretary had with Welsh Water following the spill of thousands of discs of plastic from the Fabian Way facility?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs
My officials and I engage regularly with Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water on a wide range of operational and environmental issues, including incidents such as the recent release of plastic discs from the Fabian Way treatment works. I understand that Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water is acting to investigate the cause, recover the material, and take steps to prevent a recurrence. However, as Natural Resources Wales is investigating the incident, it would not be appropriate to comment further at this stage. We will continue to work closely with both organisations to protect and maintain public confidence in Wales’s coastal environment.
