According to the latest statistics provided by Medr, programmes delivering at least 30% of their learning through the medium of Welsh have had a combined fundable value of £32 million since August 2021, representing 5.1% of the £624 million total apprenticeship funding allocated over the same period. This proportion has remained stable from year to year.
Learners on programmes delivered mainly in Welsh (50% or more) receive an average uplift of around £77 per month, while those on programmes with 30–49% Welsh‑medium delivery receive around £39 per month, providing additional financial support to sustain Welsh‑medium and bilingual provision.
