How much money does the Welsh Government receive in Barnett consequentials as a result of offshore wind projects?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Welsh Language
The Welsh Government does not receive any money through the Barnett formula directly as a result of offshore wind projects. The Welsh Government has a comparability factor of 16.9% with the UK Department for Energy and Net Zero, as detailed in the Statement of Funding Policy. This means that at UK spending reviews it gets 16.9% of changes to the overall DESNZ budgetary settlement per person through Barnett formula consequentials and an additional 5% through the needs factor, in accordance with the Welsh Government’s Fiscal Framework Agreement.
